Department of Biology and Environmental Studies focuses primarily on preparing future teachers of biology for lower- upper-secondary schools. In this field, we offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in both full-time and part-time forms of study. We also participate in teaching other teaching disciplines, mainly teaching for primary schools and kindergartens. Biology education is also our main research topic, and didactics of biology can also be studied at our department in a phd program. Thanks to the interdisciplinary nature of our main interest, biology educators meet with anthropologists, botanists, geologists, zoologists, and other experts. This allows us to gain a broad perspective not only on the issues of science education.
